Racial

Project Hiro initially depicts Japan as a superpower that revolutionises modern machinery with artificial intelligence that becomes self aware and destructive; prompting a war against humans and their own creations. Since the game features illustrations, false ideologies and theories framing eastern nations and japan for supposedly staging an attack on the west (Western Europe, United Kingdom, America) when in reality they simply lost control, one may claim that we have some form of complex or opposition towards the eastern and their primarily asian inhabitants.

We hope with Project Hiro to avoid stereotypes put in by dated media that depicted Japan in a very offensive nature, especially after their conflicts in World War 2. Such stereotypes range from general facial appeal and complexion, their methods of suicide bombing during the attack of Pearl Harbor.

Sexual

In our game, the protagonist is a white, british male who’s just lost his fiance in a disaster. An argument that could be made against our game is that we view women as incompetent and unfit to lead in a post apocalyptic setting.
